Lip Blush Course

Overview
The Lip Blush Course at Artisan Training Academy is a face-to-face, one-on-one cosmetic tattoo training course delivered on the Gold Coast. Lip blush is a soft, semi-permanent lip tattoo technique that enhances the natural lip line, evens lip tone, neutralises dark or uneven pigment, and creates a subtle “tinted lipstick” finish. As a complete lip tattoo course, the training covers full-lip blush, lipstick-effect and borderless lip techniques alongside the consultation, mapping, colour theory and infection-control knowledge required to deliver these treatments safely.
This course is offered as a non-accredited training course with two enrolment pathways: a 2-day pathway designed for experienced PMU practitioners adding lip blush to their service menu, and a 3-day pathway for those new to cosmetic tattooing (with HLTINF005 included). Both pathways teach the same lip blush, lipstick-effect and borderless lip techniques. If you want the full nationally recognised qualification in cosmetic tattooing, see our Diploma of Cosmetic Tattooing (SHB50321).
Key Outcome
By the end of the Lip Blush Course you’ll be able to confidently consult, design, map and apply full-lip blush, lipstick-effect and borderless lip cosmetic tattoo treatments on live models — including colour selection for clients with cool, warm and melanin-rich lip tones, and the dark-lip neutralisation approach for clients requiring colour correction.

Course FAQs
Is the Lip Blush Course nationally accredited?
The Lip Blush Course is a non-accredited training course focused on the specific technique of cosmetic lip tattoo work — including lip blush, lipstick effect and borderless lip. Students receive an Artisan Training Academy Certificate of Completion. The 3-day pathway additionally includes HLTINF005, which is nationally recognised. If you want a full nationally recognised qualification in cosmetic tattooing, see our Diploma of Cosmetic Tattooing (SHB50321).
Do I need prior experience to enrol?
It depends on which pathway you choose. The 3-day pathway has no prior experience requirements and includes HLTINF005 — it’s suited to students new to cosmetic tattooing as well as career-changers from beauty therapy or related disciplines. The 2-day pathway is for experienced PMU practitioners who already hold HLTINF005 (or SHBINF002) and want to add lip blush to their existing service menu.
How long is the course and what does the schedule look like?
The 2-day pathway runs half a day of theory and design followed by a day and a half of supervised practical work on 3 live models. The 3-day pathway runs one full day of theory and design followed by two full days of supervised practical work on 4 live models. Both pathways are face-to-face, one-on-one with Carlye in our Gold Coast clinic. Dates can be booked consecutively or split out if you’d prefer practice time between training days.
How is the course delivered and how will I know I’m ready to practise?
The course is delivered one-on-one in a working clinic environment, which means every model session includes direct trainer feedback on consultation, mapping, colour selection, technique and finishing. There is no formal written or practical examination — instead, your trainer signs off the work as competent across the modules and live model sessions. You’ll leave the course with a complete portfolio of before-and-after work and ongoing access to post-course mentoring.
What’s included in the course fee?
The 2-day pathway at $2,490 includes one-on-one training across all modules, 3 live model sessions, a hard copy learner guide and advanced lip mapping booklet, post-course mentoring and 20% off Artisan’s online shop — it does not include HLTINF005 or the student kit. The 3-day pathway at $3,490 includes HLTINF005, the lip-specific Artisan student kit (Mast wireless PMU machine, 1-point and 3-point cartridges, 3 premium lip pigments, lip wands, microtips and design tools), one-on-one training across all modules, 4 live model sessions, post-course mentoring and 20% off Artisan’s online shop.
