Lash and Brow Course Gold Coast – SHBBFAS004 Provide Lash and Brow Services

Course Overview
Lash and brow services are some of the most in-demand treatments in the beauty industry. Clients are increasingly looking for ways to enhance their natural features with professional, long-lasting results — from lash lifts and tints to brow shaping, brow tinting and brow lamination. With this demand has come a real shortage of skilled lash and brow technicians who can deliver precise, artistic and safe services on the Gold Coast.
The SHBBFAS004 Provide Lash and Brow Services course at Artisan Training Academy (RTO 46085) is a nationally recognised lash and brow course designed for aspiring beauty professionals and existing technicians who want to formalise their skills. Across two intensive face-to-face days and a flexible online theory component, you’ll learn to consult with clients, identify contraindications, select the right products, and deliver lash lifts, lash tints, brow shape, brow tinting and brow lamination treatments to a professional standard. You’ll also visit our partner brand Ink and Beauty Co to learn about the products and equipment used in industry.
Key Outcome
On successful completion, you’ll receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for SHBBFAS004 Provide Lash and Brow Services — a credential that demonstrates your competence to employers, clients and insurers across Australia.

- Establish client priorities: Conduct effective consultations, perform patch tests, identify contraindications and confirm treatment plans.
- Prepare for lash and brow service: Set up the treatment area, comply with health and hygiene regulations, and select appropriate products.
- Chemically treat eyelashes and eyebrows: Perform lash lifts and brow lamination safely and effectively using manufacturer-approved chemical treatment procedures.
- Shape eyebrows: Apply waxing, threading and tweezing techniques to design and finalise brow shape to suit the client.
- Tint eyelashes and eyebrows: Select tint type and colour, mix and apply tints, and remove product safely while protecting the eye area.
- Review service and provide post service advice: Evaluate the service with the client, record outcomes, provide aftercare advice and rebook future treatments.
- Clean service area: Clean, disinfect and restock equipment, and dispose of waste according to organisational and environmental procedures.
This SHBBFAS004 lash and brow course sits within Artisan’s broader range of beauty courses on the Gold Coast, and pairs well with the Eyelash Extension Course (SHBBMUP008) for technicians wanting a complete eye-area service offering.

How You’ll Be Assessed
To be deemed competent in SHBBFAS004, you’ll complete two assessment tasks. Both are scored as Satisfactory or Not Satisfactory — there are no grades or numerical marks. If your first attempt is Not Satisfactory, you’re entitled to a second attempt.
Assessment Task 1
A written knowledge test covering the theory of lash and brow services, including health and hygiene regulations, infection control, hair structure and growth, contraindications, brow shaping methods, lash and brow products, skin reactions, and aftercare. The test is open book and untimed, and contains 31 written questions you complete in your own time during the online study period.
Assessment Task 2
A supervised practical assessment delivered across two activities, where you provide lash and brow services to multiple clients to demonstrate you can adapt to different lash and brow requirements, skin types and client preferences. Together, the assessment covers at least three of the four core services: eyelash tint, eyelash lift, eyebrow shape and eyebrow tint.
The practical covers two activities:
- Activity 1 – Lash treatments: Provide lash services (eyelash tinting and lash lifts) to four clients, including a full consultation, patch testing, the treatment itself, treatment plan documentation and aftercare advice.
- Activity 2 – Brow treatments: Provide brow services (eyebrow shape and eyebrow tint) to four clients, including consultation, shaping by waxing, threading or tweezing, tinting where appropriate, and aftercare.
