Skin Needling Course Gold Coast

Course Overview
Skin needling is one of the most effective non-chemical treatments available for skin rejuvenation, and it’s increasingly in demand from clients looking for natural, science-backed results. Also known as microneedling, dermal needling, dermal stamping, and collagen induction therapy (CIT), this skin needling course gives you the foundation skills and underpinning theoretical knowledge to confidently introduce treatments into your practice.
Delivered on the Gold Coast in small groups of 1–3, the course combines structured online pre-study with two intensive days of face-to-face microneedling training. You’ll learn how to assess skin conditions, plan appropriate treatments, perform the procedure safely, and guide your clients through aftercare — building both the technical skill and the clinical confidence to add skin needling as a profitable service.
Key Outcome
Confidently consult, plan, and perform skin needling treatments to address concerns including enlarged pores, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, uneven skin texture, stretch marks, and hyperpigmentation.

Prerequisites
Because skin needling is a skin penetration treatment, an infection control certification is required before commencing this course. The required prerequisite is HLTINF005 Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration treatments. SHBBINF002 Maintain infection control standards is accepted as an alternative pathway for students who already hold it as part of their Certificate III in Beauty Services.
If you don’t yet hold an infection control certification, you can enrol in the Skin Needling and HLTINF005 bundle for $2,200 and complete both together.
Training location
Face-to-face training is delivered at Artisan Training Academy in Worongary on the Gold Coast. Students travelling from interstate or further afield are welcome — get in touch and we can help with timing and recommendations. If you’re looking to continue your skin training, the Relaxation Facial Treatments Course is a natural complementary skill that pairs well with skin needling.
Certification
This is a non-accredited training course. On successful completion of both the online pre-study and the two days of face-to-face training — including the written assessment and supervised practical demonstration — you’ll receive an Artisan Certificate of Completion. Because skin needling is not currently a nationally recognised unit of competency, this certificate is issued by Artisan Training Academy as a non-accredited industry training credential, not as a qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Course FAQs
Is the Skin Needling Course accredited?
No, this is a non-accredited training course. Skin needling is not currently a standalone nationally recognised unit of competency, so on completion you’ll receive an Artisan Certificate of Completion rather than a nationally recognised qualification. If you’re looking to complete a nationally recognised beauty qualification alongside your skin needling training, the Certificate III in Beauty Services (SHB30121) is the accredited pathway that pairs naturally with this course.
What experience or prerequisites do I need before enrolling?
Because skin needling is a skin penetration treatment, you must hold an infection control certification before commencing the course. HLTINF005 Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration treatments is the required prerequisite, and SHBBINF002 is accepted as an alternative pathway. The course is designed for beauty therapists and skin therapists — beginner and intermediate practitioners are both welcome, and prior skin treatment experience is helpful but not essential. If you don’t yet hold an infection control qualification, you can enrol in the bundled option and complete both together.
How long is the course and how is it delivered?
The skin needling course is delivered as a blend of online pre-study and face-to-face training. The online component is available for up to three months and is designed to be completed at your own pace before your face-to-face days. The practical training takes place over two consecutive days at our Gold Coast facility in small groups of 1–3 students, with close educator supervision and live model practice where possible.
What’s included in the course fee?
The standalone fee of $2,000 includes online pre-study access, a hard-copy Skin Needling Learner Guide, two days of face-to-face training, live model practice where available through our working clinic, and ongoing post-course support from the Artisan team. The bundled option at $2,200 also includes the full HLTINF005 infection control prerequisite, which is the most cost-effective way to complete both if you don’t already hold infection control certification.
What can I expect on the practical training days?
Day one focuses on consolidating theory, demonstration, and structured observation — you’ll see the full treatment performed by your educator and have time to ask questions before you treat anyone yourself. Day two is dedicated to supervised live model practice, where you’ll perform full microneedling treatments on real clients under close educator supervision. Artisan provides models through our working clinic where possible, and students are also encouraged to bring their own models, particularly if they’d like to follow healing outcomes and treatment results over time.
