How You’ll Be Assessed
To be deemed competent in SHBBBOS007, you’ll complete two assessment tasks. Both are scored as Satisfactory or Not Satisfactory — there are no grades or numerical marks. If your first attempt is Not Satisfactory, you’re entitled to a second attempt.
Assessment Task 1
A written knowledge test covering the theory of cosmetic tanning — including health and hygiene regulations, product selection, contraindications, equipment safety, and policies and procedures. The test is open book and untimed, completed independently.
Assessment Task 2
A supervised practical assessment where you demonstrate the full spray tanning service across all five chapters of the unit. You’ll be assessed on multiple clients to ensure you can adapt your approach to different skin tones, body shapes and tanning preferences.
